The Community Market, organised by Art Plumstead since 2016, is held both inside and outside of St. Marks Hall, Old Mill Road, Plumstead, London SE18 1QG. The Market is open from 11am until 3pm and entry is free.
Saturday 18th September
Here are some of the September attractions
This month the hot food outside of the Hall will be provided by db CATERING (Creative Catering and Events).
Regular stallholder, the Gourmet Sausage Maker will have a variety of sausages + vacuum packed meat as usual.
We are delighted to welcome first time Community Market stallholder, Godfrey of Crowncraft Leather, at this Market.
Local cakemaker, Rebecca, who was with us for the first time in August, will be back with us this month.
Phil of Antique Pine, who wasn't able to be with us in August, will be back outside the Hall with his Retro & Vintage.
Jayne of the Naked Honey Company will be coming along from Erith to join us for the first time.
Rob Marchant is the artist joining us this month. It seemed fair to invite him along because, although he has been with us at the Market previously, he wasn't able to take part in Plumstead Open Studios.
Plumstead based Harper Bizarre Art will be with us "in person" this month.
Delighted that textile designer and maker, Yuri of BluebellMarsh, will be with us again on Saturday.
When considering starting the Market again, we decided that the safety of the community must be our highest priority and to this end we will be doing the following on Market days: -
(a) Having fewer stalls inside the Hall to allow adequate spacing.
(b) Strongly encouraging the wearing of face coverings by everyone in indoor public areas if they can. By that we mean the hall and toilet facilities. All Art Plumstead volunteers will be following this guidance.
(c) In the Hall we will have the main doors and all the fire doors open, together with the windows to get maximum air flow.
(d) Volunteers will be monitoring the toilet area and sanitising, as necessary.
(e) Hand sanitising facilities will be available at the main entrance. As businesses, it will be down to you to manage your stall area as you see fit, being mindful of the public’s safety.
(f) Hot food, together with hot and cold drinks, will be prepared and served outside the hall where tables and chairs will be situated for the public to eat and drink.
The dates booked for the rest of 2021 are as follows: -
Saturday 16th October
Saturday 20th November
Saturday 11th December
